“It seems like they hunted him down like an animal or something,” says loved one of Kilyn Lewis, Aurora man killed by police
Why do we demand justice?
Kilyn Lewis was a 37-year-old African American who was murdered by the Aurora Police Department. This is the same police department responsible for the murders of Elijah McClain, Jor’Dell Richardson, and many others.
Due to a pattern of misconduct and excessive force, the Aurora Police Department has been placed under a consent decree by the Colorado Department of Justice. This decree mandates reforms and increased oversight to address systemic issues within the department.
The murder of Kilyn E. Lewis makes it clear that the Aurora Police Department is in clear violation of the consent decree.
Kilyn E. Lewis touched many lives with his kindness and dedication. May his legacy live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
